The Main Street Grind coffee shop and bakery was completed in 2010. The building was constructed on a site which had recently been demolished by a large fire, and had a very tight construction schedule. The building features a bakery kitchen, second-story lounge/eating area, and an outdoor patio which has been very well utilized by the public since the business' opening in 2010.

The building features five teller stations, three private offices, a boardroom, and a separate leased space, along with three drive-thru lanes. In 1997, Dr. Brian Linde decided to build a new office for his optometry practice, and he hired Stevenson Design, Inc to design it. The 7,000 square foot office houses a full optometry center with exam rooms and private offices. This building was completed as a design/build project with Jones Construction out of Billings.

The Richland County Law & Justice Center is a newly constructed (completed in 2010) facility which cost approximately $16.5 million in construction. Programming and design resulted in a modern, code compliant, energy efficient facility of approximately 65,000 square feet. Included are detention facilities for men, women, and juveniles, short term holding for youths, observation cells, day rooms, District and Justice Courts and offices, County Sheriff and city police offices, dispatch, County Attorneys, support offices, and several related specialized spaces.

The Miles City Public Library desperately needed a larger area to house their children's section, which regularly hosts various scheduled activities that see high levels of attendance. In 2007, they began the process of adding the 2,400 square foot addition that now serves that exact need. The addition houses plenty of books, work tables, computer stations, and a separate teen center. The children's library addition was completed in 2010, with the construction costs totaling approximately $325,000.

When the Valley County Detention Center realized that they needed more space for their facility, they called upon Stevenson Design, Inc. to design an addition. Initial planning began in 2008, and the addition was completed in early 2011. The 10,000 square foot detention center includes a secure sallyport, a booking area, short-term holding cells, a detoxification cell, and 12 standard cells (able to hold 23 inmates). Construction costs totaled $3.1 million.

The Rosebud County Courthouse in Forsyth is rich in both beauty and history, which is something that the Rosebud County Commissioners recognize and cherish. In order to maintain its natural beauty, the courthouse was in desparate need of a facelift, which is exactly what Stevenson Design, Inc has helped to give it over the years. Having completed an elevator shaft addition (pictured to the left) and a refinishing of the copper dome, we are now completing the exterior by replacing the roofing, restoring the stone facades, and making additional masonry repairs that are expected to be complete in summer of 2012.

The Cornerstone Apartment complex is a historical renovation of the original (and long unused) Holy Rosary Hospital (now on the National Register of Historic Places list), completed in 2006 in Miles City, MT. The project consisted of renovating the 28,000 square foot existing building into a 21-unit multi-family housing complex, which has now been fully rented to moderate-income families. The recorded energy use of the building is a very low 28,000 BTU/sf per year despite having un-metered unit utilities. Total construction cost was $3.1 million, with funding coming from several different grants.

When Custer County District High School realized that they needed more space for several types of activities, they relied on Stevenson Design, Inc. to provide them with a flexible space that would suit all of their needs. A 6,300 square foot entry addition onto the gymnasium that gave the high school more classroom space, a large receiving lobby for sporting events , and a larger, more efficient concession stand was the result. The entry addition was completed in 1998 with approximate construction costs totaling $375,000.

Miles Community College hosts several events at their Centra; a gym complete with basketball and raquetball courts, fitness rooms, and a large food service area to hold meals for students during the week. The food service area also doubles as a concession area during the Centra's many events. The food service area was long overdue for an interior remodel, which Stevenson Design, Inc. completed for MCC in 2009. The remodel included updated layouts, finish selections, furniture, and equipment, and improved all functions of the dining center; both as the student dining services, as well as concession/catering kitchen. Total construction costs were around $365,000.

Their original retail showroom building (completed in 1998) was constructed with a concrete tilt-up method, and covers approximately 10,000 square feet. The entry features a stained-glass canopy that was added in 2008 to further emphasize the entry. Construction costs for this building were approximately $500,000.

In 1999, Stevenson Design, Inc. and Jones Construction (Billings, MT) teamed up to create a design/build concrete-tilt up building to house their new facility. A subsequent addition was completed in 2003 (doubling the square footage), with total construction costs coming in just under $1.2 million.

Thus, MCC (together with Stevenson Design, Inc) completed a new $1.75 million, 24,000 square foot, 130-bed capacity dormitory building completed in 2002. The buiilding features student dorms, laundry facilities, a group kitchen/dining area, a mail room/reception area, and a studio apartment for a Resident Advisor.

The Parkview II Retirement Complex building consists of 12 two-bedroom units which was a $1.5 million addition (completed in 2009) that attached the Fallon Medical Center Nursing Home to the existing Parkview Retirement Complex. This addition is also the new home of the Fallon County Public Health Department and a new kitchen/dining area for the existing Fallon Medical Center. Parkview II is an 8,300 square foot facility, which doubled the amount of residents that the facility is able to hold, and has been very well utilized by the community since its completion.

In 2004, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Miles City decided to remodel the interior of their church, and Stevenson Design, Inc. was enlisted to help with the design. The interior remodel included the entire north wing, the entry foyer, a large multi-purpose room, and the main chapel, as well as some exterior landscaping. The approximate construction costs for the remodel were $190,000.
